Easy Easter Fairy Cake Decorations - so simple and yet so cute.

A friend saw the ones we had made and decided to make them for her school class. The children loved them.

Simple cupcakes the children can help with.

The little chicken is synonomous with easter but not as routine as a buuny or egg.

You can pick up the little chickens at any cheap outlet - I think mine cost $2 for a pack of 12.

Easter Chicks
Ingredients
12	Cupcakes - any recipe, we used basic vanilla and chocolate
1 qty	butter icing
4 tbls	coconut
	green food coloring
12	miniature toy chickens
12	bought eggs, foil covered or we used M&M® eggs
Method
1.	Color the icing a medium green color.
2.	Put the coconut in a plastic bag. Add a few drops of food coloring, squishing with fingers to distribute color. Keep adding a few drops at a time, until desired color is achieved. (the plastic bag avoids fingers getting stained.
3.	Ice each cake with a good covering of green icing.
4.	Invert iced cake into coconut to cover. Push on with fingers a little if needed. Shake off excess.
5.	Place egg and chick on top.
Notes
Makes 12 easter nests. Fun and easy for everyone to decorate.
